Terrascapes Series

This series is about “Organic abstraction”. Each piece in the series is concerned with fluidity and perspective. Organic abstraction maintains a balance between creating an image that conjures up familiar places while also exploring and questioning the viewer as to what are they seeing. I am exploring the idea of perspective. I am asking the viewer to discover, “Am I at a distant vantage point or am I examining some space up close?"

Like my other series, I have laid out some ground rules for myself in this new series, which may change as time goes on.

Once I can visualize the image completely, I do a few thumbnail sketches to work thru how I am going to make the vision a reality. The intent of my artwork is to capture and share my perspective to provoke a visual dialogue with the viewer.
