Jennifer Blair-Cockrum is an American western painter and creative entrepreneur. Inspired from her dreams, her art work is personal and relate-able. Pastels provide the sense of intimacy, depth, intense color and texture her imaginative work requires. As a result, soft pastels became her primary medium around 2009. However, she still enjoys experimenting and expressing herself in her other mediums such as, acrylic, watercolor, and more recently encaustic wax.
Active in the community and the arts, she is a member and supporter of the Arts Students League of Denver, Colorado Watercolor Society, Foothills Center for the Arts, Arvada Center for the Arts, Arvada Fine Arts Guild. Her credits include serving as a Board Members for Learning Ally and The Listening To Learn Guild. She has been featured in the Denver Post Your Hub, Channel 7 and 9News. She was awarded First Place Pastel during the 2010 Lone Tree Art Exhibition and her work was featured with the City of Lone Tree. Her work is held in private collections throughout the United States.
She graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Fine Arts. She earned her Masters in Public Health: Occupational Health and Safety/Industrial Hygiene from the University of Hawaii, while continuing her studies of the fine arts. She calls the front range of Colorado her home with her family and three children. Jennifer finds Colorado’s never ending blue skies a feast for the eyes. She enjoys the diverse landscapes, sunshine, and connecting with people.
